All the major companies have products that can save you water and money. These products include:

• Smart Timers, These timers are programed to water areas that need watering most. This will save up to 50% on water usage.
• Rain Sensors, Just by adding a rain sensor can save water, money and the hassle of turning the system off when the rains come. Ever seen a system running during a rain shower? What a waste.
• MP Rotors, These little heads by Hunter work with the same precipitation rate as a regular rotor but with up to 3/4 of the water usage. Combined with a Smart Timer, you can really save.
• Drip Line, Countries like Gods beloved Israel have used drip systems for years. Drip Lines are efficent because they put the water at the roots of plants and shurbs. You can even add micro sprayers and bubblers to a Drip Line for plants that need a different watering application. When you use Drip Lines in beds and shrubs on a system using using the MP Rotors and a Smart Timer, you have an all round efficent system.

 Most irrigation companies have not come on board with these type of systems. Do your homework. If nothing else, make the company you pick to install your system, install a rain sensor. They are required on new systems. It won't be the irrigation company that will be fined. It will be you! This is why all systems that I install will have a Rain Sensor.
